Excellence in Flexography Gold Award
The foundation of Flexographic Technical Association has presented D.D. Bean & Sons Co the
Gold Award in its annual national flexographic printing competition held this year in Salt Lake City.
The D.D. Bean entry was the "Camel Blends Matchbook" series that was developed for an R.J.
Reynolds Tobacco Company book match advertising program. This national award was given for a 1st
place finish in the Narrow Web category for process coated paperboard printing. Entries
were judged on both degree of difficulty and level of execution. Please join us in a congratulatory
"job well done" to our printing department and support staff.
D.D. Bean & Sons Co. uses state-of-the-art flexographic printing equipment which delivers high-quality images and quick print turnarounds. This process can accommodate the printing of virtually any desired match cover graphic from a simple single-color design up to a complex 4-color process reproduction. Images can be printed on both the outside and inside cover the book. All of our match covers are over coated with a high gloss transparent varnish that provides both image protection and enhancement of printed graphics.
Matches are packaged 50 books to a caddy (tray). Each caddy is wrapped in a protective and descriptive paper sleeve. This overwrap sleeve is printed using our flexographic equipment and frequently carries a stock D.D. Bean design. This sleeve, however, can be printed in up to 3-colors to complement a specific customer's matchbook design. This could be of particular interest when the product might be sold or given away by the caddy.
